Hello loves! I hope you are all keeping yourselves warm and safe in the Snow. I cannot wait until Spring graces us with her presence but until then…I’ll continue to work on creating sun-kissed skin. My birthday is tomorrow I am ready to get my glow on despite the arctic temperatures!
I have dark melanated skin and I love the look of gold and copper tones on it. See below my top 3 highlighters that are sure to make your melanin pop!

This is my first liquid highlighter and I do like the look of it, however I am still getting used to using it and need more practice especially when blending it in. I will continue to practice and hopefully I’ll be able to master the art of using liquid highlighter. Do any of you have any tips on how to use liquid highlighters?

This is one of my favourite highlighters. I think the powder application makes it easier for me to blend and it has great coverage. I tend to use this highlighter as part of my everyday make up routine, for example, if I am going out casually as it’s quite light, and although it is visible, it’s not too dramatic.

Now THIS higlighter is part of my evening make up glamour look. It’s a shiny copper shade that just instantly glows! The shade definitely compliments my skin tone which is why I like to wear it when I am going out. There is no need to apply a lot and it does last throughout the day.
Right now, powder highlighters are my preferred picks but I do think I need to experiment more with the liquid types.
Which highlighters do you prefer- the liquid or powder ones?
